Indigenous Naming Consultation/Workshop Package

How can we decolonize Hamilton Public Library?

Working with settler students to create best practices and goals for indigenizing Hamilton Public Library’s and libraries in general, through consultation with local Indigenous communities and indigenous community groups in and around Hamilton and within the library profession. Best practices would include identifying partnerships where the library can do consultation and programming with the partner organizations. A check list of suggestions and actions settlers can employ for listening and being open to feedback from Indigenous communities.

Goal: How can HPL Indigenize their staff, services and collection to allow them to better serve Indigenous and particularly Six Nations customers and how can HPL work collaboratively with Six Nations library and other indigenous partners in Hamilton?
