Hi I’m Atoosa Berenji Kalkhoran. I’m currently in my last year of mechatronics engineering. I love drawing and 3D printing. I am an international student and I’ve been living in Canada for almost 5 years now. I’ve been through the process of getting used to an unknown environment and I got through it by the help of the people around me and I don’t know what I would have done without their support. After being in CityLAB, I realized that I have the opportunity to help others just like the way, they helped me and in doing so, be part of a great community, which it’s goal is to reach climate justice in different ways. I’m really happy and grateful that through CityLAB, I could meet so many amazing people from students to the instructors and community partners and I had the privilege of being able to share this experience with them and learn so many amazing things . I think that one day when I look back at my life, CityLAB would be one of the most treasured memories of mine.

I'm in my fourth year of a combined honours of Environment & Society and Sociology, minoring in Community Engagement. I joined CityLAB because I have a great interest in urban planning and learning more about cities and development. I am very eager to be a part of CityLAB to explore these interest in a more hands-on approach while working directly with the community and the City of Hamilton. I also really enjoy learning more about the City of Hamilton aside from only temporary living here for school. I enjoy learning about the social and historical implications of the region I am living in and getting a full comprehensive idea of the city's traditions and norms as I spend my time here and grow a greater connection with Hamilton and Hamiltonians.

Hi! I'm currently in my 4th year of Health Sciences.

The program's mission to equip students with the skills and resources to enact change in their communities, all while embracing the principles of reciprocity, relationships, and equity aligns perfectly with my passion for making a positive impact on society.

Throughout my academic journey, I’ve often felt a lack of experiential learning opportunities that integrate scientific knowledge with real-world challenges. This is why CityLAB Hamilton stands out to me. It offers a rare chance for undergraduates like me to immerse themselves in hands-on experiences that tackle pressing issues, like climate change.
